Live Streaming Events, Coming to a Screen Near You
Live Streaming Events, Coming to a Screen Near You
Last week we shared a tweet which gave some useful tips on how to support artists during this somewhat unsettling time we’re in.
We don’t need to write a post about the impact Cononavirus is having on this industry that we know and love because we see the news unfolding everyday- stocks have crashed, festivals and live cancelled. However let’s hope that this sees a spike in the purchasing of merch’, physical products as well as digital streams, and let this be a time that you start pledging on Patreon as more and more independent artists are taking to the platform to deliver live-stream type ‘shows’.
At Here and Now, we love to see music and tech fusions, and even better, ways to utilise tech for good. Therefore, we wanted to nudge you all in the direction of live streaming events, especially at a time when artists have been so very badly effected.
Virtual Music Events Directory
We gave Cherie Hu a little shout out on our International Women’s Day blog post, and we absolutely love this directory that she has created. It has a list of useful tools for artists wanting to live-stream shows, or industry folk wanting to live stream seminar/talks, as well as a list of events taking place.
Social Distancing Festival
The Social Distancing Festival is an online artist’s community made to celebrate and showcase the work of the many artists around the world who have been affected by the need for social distancing that has come about due to the spread of Coronavirus.
Sofa King Fest
Sofa King Fest is an emergency response online music and arts directory aimed to minimize your self quarantine boredom, whilst providing a platform to raise money for artists, crew and music industry professionals affected by this pandemic.
Please share with us other great music/tech initiatives you’ve come across- we’d love to show our support!
