Paradox was inspired by the premise of an observer changing the outcome i.e. Schrödinger's Cat. The larger body of work was inspired by quantum physics and thinking about how it is analogous to our own personal connections. Paradox starts off simply and blooms. In the end matter is transformed to light - as represented by the delicate Celesta notes.
Shining On and On was inspired by the idea that energy keeps going on and on. Sometimes transferring from one state to the next. We are star stuff.
Light in the Forest was inspired by living in the woods and seeing a mysterious light at night deep within. The idea that there is something out there. We are observers.
Twenty is a melody that I wrote when I was 19 years old for a friend that got a piano for his twentieth birthday. I morphed it into this new version.
The overall album is about connections to people, things, and places. It’s about how we are all intertwined. One action causes a reaction. Energy is conserved. States are changed.
